Valeria Brinkers has been practicing ikebana for over thirty-five years. In June 1993, she graduated as an instructor from the Sangetsu School of Flower Arranging, Kado Sangetsu-Ryu. She is a senior master and former president of Ikebana International Los Angeles Chapter. She also owns and coordinates the Ikebana Lessons show “Joyful Flowers.”
She has organized an Annual Ikebana Show at Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona Del Mar for the past 4 years and the Carlsbad Flower Fields with over twenty thousand visitors. She also organized and teaches at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena and the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute.
Her work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, My Valley News, and Stu News Laguna. Valeria continues to inspire students and enthusiasts through her passion and expertise, helping discover the harmony and mindfulness found in Ikebana.
Leonard Brinkers has been practicing Ikebana since 1995. He graduated from the Sangetsu School of Flower, Arranging as an instructor in 2014 and Master Assistant in 2017.
He is a former Ikebana International Los Angeles Vice President and is very active with the Sangetsu group.
Leonard participated in the Sherman Gardens Carlsbad Flower Fields and Pacific Asian Museum exhibitions and demonstrations with the Sangetsu Group.
He is also teaching at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Center every month.
